Software Engineer (User Experience)

As LineStream’s Software Engineer (User Experience), you ensure we live up to the latter part of our credo: advanced control, made simple.  By defining, designing, and developing elegant User Interface software that enables customers to access, operate, and troubleshoot our software on embedded platforms (MCUs, DSPs, FPGAs), you create a seamless, intuitive connection between human and machine.

We expect from you:

  • 3-5 years of professional PC and embedded software product development experience
  • Expertise in OOP design, software architecture, design pattern
  • Stellar coding skills in C/C++(esp. Qt framework) or C#/.NET(2.0/3.0/3.5/4.0) or Java
  • Mastery of multi-threading, synchronization, and memory management for Windows 
  • Knowledge of current Web 2.0 trends and best practices in front-end architecture
  • Track record in agile, iterative software development environments
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivation and a desire to take ownership and drive results
  • BSCE, BSCS, or BSEE required; MS preferred

Ideally, you'd also have: 

  • Familiarity with PC-DSP communication protocols (serial port, USB, CAN, and Ethernet)
  • Background in C object code parsing (ELF, COFF, DWARF)
  • Knowledge of embedded system boot loaders, flash, and memory operations
  • Proficiency in software plug-in design, installation packaging, encryption, and license management
  • Capacity for SQL database programming
